How the Scoravain craft their swords:

They create a stone brick pyramid thing with clay sealing all the cracks, covering all of it other than the open top. They create a roughly 2 foot long casement, and fill it with iron ore, a little sand, broken glass, and ground up charcoal, and completely seal the stone and clay casement from air and more coals getting in. Then the casement is placed in the pyramid-like lump, which is sealed off with more bricks and clay, after beig filled to the top with charcoal and coals. A small hole is created by removing a small brick on the side and making small walls to shield the area from wind. Then they remove two small slits, one on each side, for heat ventilation. Then, they put a few burning coals in the small hole the light the other coals, and blow and pump air into it for ten hours, the whole village contributing time and effort. Then, they break open the pyramid, and remove the casement's top bricks, and removing some coals until the casement is removable. Then it is removed with cast iron tongs, the clay and sand mixture (Which is used to purify the now steel of it's slang, or impurities in the steel itself) broken off and exposing the heated steel ingot, which is pounded with a cat iron hammer and crafted for eight hours until perfect, and, while still craft able, the word "Everlasting" then carved into the blade below the fuller (The indentation running down the center of the blade) which is pounded in accordingly. in native tongue looking more like " AIf+BeRHK+T " to others. This process, however, may weaken the blade at a strategic point, so the metal strips the came off from the gouges are made taller with hammering, and then placed on the blade in the same spot and are hammered down once to put each letter in the correct position, not en caved, but sticking out. Beforehand, a slight handle is formed by leaving parts unhammered, ad making a spherical counterbalance, and a cross looking like a bar. Then, it is super heated once again in a standard stone furnace, ans the sharp edges are then hammered down to perfection. Finally, it is cooled instantly, or "Quenched" after being heated again in a river and with stored ice from winter for two day, after which it is polished with a stone to see of the name survived the last heating and is still visible. The finished sword is about two and a quarter pounds. If  a Scoravain is killed in battle with a "Everlasting" sword, it is buried withe the Scoravain who wielded it.

Stravicues  (strav-E-que-z)

An animal I think will be on the New Planet will be a birdlike raptoid that is used as a carrier pigeon role by the Scoravain. They are like small raptors, maybe ~ 2 feet at most long, with a wingspan of ~ 3 feet and is completely covered in feathers. It has a birdlike beak, short and thick, but straight. It has small serrated teeth on the beak, like small thorns for grasping bugs that is eats. It's stature is like a  raptor, and it is built like one, but it can barely stand and walk, let alone run. The reason for this that it has gliding/flying feathers on it's forearms - mid upper-arms, and on it's calf - mid-thigh areas. It gets around via gliding from tree to tree, sometimes for up to a mile if high enough. It spends ~ 98% of it's time in the trees, as It only comes down for water or when the Scoravain are in need of them, as they speak the roughly same language. They build nests high in the tree-tops, and females lay ~ 3 eggs per clutch. The female and male take turns sitting and watching over/on the eggs, and, in turn, the young. They are light blue in color, and with whitish splotches on their feathers that resemble clouds. Their gliding feathers are red-orange on the tips, and their beak and leg color is yellowish brown. Their diet consists of bugs such as dragonflies and any other insect that happens to be in front of these birdlike raptoids. They may eat small mammals like rats or mice, but may also turn to fish caught by fishermen raptoids or whatever else may have caught them, or if the fish are in extremely shallow water. They land on trees by bringing their back feet/leg feathers out of the pyramid position over their tail, and bringing them into a biplane-like position under them, their for feathers acting as another set of wings to slow them down, then bring their feet up to their chest area to make them tip upwards and let them grasp the tree.

The Field Trip

~ Dracavion Bus
~ Kids attacked and traumatized by 'the shadows'
~ Teachers and chaperones killed / mauled violently (e.g. downward attack from the trees on a teacher's head, crushing their skull)
~ After the initial attack, everyone runs back to the bus, teachers and chaperones getting picked off one by one along the way, some simply disappearing, others managing a short scream before they die.
~ Only the kids make it back to the bus. They pound on the drac, begging to be let in. It opens up and they pile in, screaming about shadows and almost forcing the doors closed behind them. The bus asks what they are so terrified of, but gets no coherent answer besides 'shadows', or maybe 'ghosts.'
~ The frantic kids are trying to decide what to do, when they begin to hear noises outside the bus. After a couple of 'back and forths' chasing after the noises, a dark shape with deep red eyes rises into view outside a window. Everyone screams, even startling the drac, whose internal lights blink several times. When it calms down enough for the lights to come back on the shape is gone.
~ At this point, due to everyone's pleading and its own intuition, the bus decides to abandon the missing party members and fly back to the colony.
~ When they reach the school in the colony, they are met by several worried teachers. The kids flee from the bus, some babbling incoherently about shadows, others in complete shock to the point where they can't speak.
~ The incident becomes known as the Shadow Killing, which triggers a joint effort between the Humans and Raptavi to investigate the deaths, bringing the two races closer.
